it is finished! the summer lace shawlette, made from dream in color smooshy sock yarn. i used one skein, (450 yards) size 7 us needles and it took about 2 weeks. the color in the wip pic is the best representation of the true color. i loved this project and you can link it here.

in fact, i loved it so much i started another one.
this is malabrigo lace weight in jacinto colorway. this is so wonderful i need a cigarette after an evening of knitting. it feels like
butter without the grease. i'm using the yarn double strand and plan to use 3 skeins. i made the shoulders wider by doing more increases than the pattern called for. size 7 us and at $8.80 a skein it's a cheap date.
another one hits the frog pond! i decided i wanted to use larger needles so i ripped. the yarn is dazed by feza, $2.00 a ball in the bargin bin at my favorite yarn house of ill repute. the pattern was given to me by a lovely lady i met there one saturday who was knitting charity shawls. i don't know where she found it so i'm sorry i don't know how to share it with you. i haven't restarted this cuz i'm so in lust with jacinto.
the second sock has been cast on and will be finished when my malabrigo affair is over.
six mason-dixon bibs (3 pictured here) for ella made from sugar and cream and peaches and cream yarn. while ya can't beat the price this yarn is not fun. too dry.
and last is the lamb's pride, sable colorway, a knitting pure a knitting pure and simple top down v-neck cardigan. cast on many moons ago and has just been neglected. i will finish but only the shadow knows when.
this not a complete list of wips but today darling ella, her mom, sara, my mom and i are having a picture made of the four generations. so i am off now to pretty up.
coming attractions.......................
wip # 1.........mason-dixon bibs for darling ella. these are really fast and mindless. there is a fourth one in pink and white.
wip # 2.........still working on colinette jitterbug, i think this is the tuscan colorway.
wip # 3.........malabrigo oops, manos block of the month put on by none other than the dudes.
i love this colorway, it has all the colors of a magnificent sunset w/ gold, pink, purple, and blue. the book calls for each block to be a different color but i think i'm gonna do this one alternating this color w/ solids in the gold, pink, purple, you get the idea.
a chance to spend the day in A2 and to hear the harlot?? count me in.
blogless jean (thanks for driving!) and i met up for breakfast then hit the road for the hashbash ann arbor district library to hear the incomparable stephanie. we arrived about 11:45am for the 2pm talk, found kristi, erin, pat, kel, karen, orange (i'll try to do links later, gotta get ready for work now!) among others and settled in to knit and gab whilst waiting for the guest of honor. i knew it was gonna be an adventure when the library dude came to the stage and said he had good news and bad news.
the good news? the books have arrived and the local bookstore is here w/ copies to be purchased.
the bad news? stephanie is in chicago. fut the wuck? foggy in detroit, plane turned back to chi-town. guest arranged another flight, arrival at 3:10pm, she will be here by 4ish. again i say, fut the wuck...........i don't know where this dude is from but no way can one land in detroit at 3:10, get through the baggage claim and be in the maize and blue by 4. nevertheless, we all spent a great time knittin' and talkin' and eatin' and visiting the lys going to the bathroom. (the library lady said if anyone left the building they would lose their seat, soooo you know how long those lines for the ladies room can be!)
by 4:10 no steph, i left to meet youngest son and his s.o. for a great lunch at jerusalem garden. warning: the falafel is good but they put jalapeno in it!
i love ann arbor. when i'm there i feel as though ANYTHING is possible. some say they feel that way in the desert or at the seashore, but as for me.... give me ann arbor on a sunny day, lunch outside w/ my favorite youngest son and his s.o. and i am in heaven.
and last but not least...ella who has decided grammy needs to be hers and all hers so i'll try to finish later.
later..............
i got back to the library in time to hear steph for about 20 minutes and she was great. if i had just had the day she did, i'd have gone to the hashbash hotel, put on my jammies and had a beer or 6 and gone to sleep.
